April 2026 – Samantha Stacey joins the lab as a Ph.D. candidate- welcome Sam!
April 2026 – Langert Lab attends the American Society for Neurochemistry meeting in St. Louis. Chanpreet gives an oral presentation in a session on Nanomaterial Delivery for Nervous System Disorders, moderated by Dr. Langert. Dr. Langert presents in a session entitled Lipid Post-translational Protein Modifications in Neurological Diseases and Disorders. Chanpreet wins an Early Career Educational Enhancement travel award, AND a third place poster award! WHEW!
March 2026 – Dr. Langert’s promotion to Associate Professor with Tenure is approved!
March 2026 – Langert lab attends the Society for Biomaterials meeting in Atlanta. Hershey presents in the Biomaterials for Neural Engineering session, and Dr. Langert moderates Neural Engineering and Nanomaterials SIG sessions. Hershey wins a STAR travel award from the Drug Delivery SIG!
March 2026 – Hershey, representing Loyola, wins first place in the graduate student oral symposium at the annual meeting of the Chicago Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience! In addition, Chanpreet wins the Dana Foundation NeuroArt competition.
January 2026 – Debut of langertlab.com
October 2025 – Dr. Langert’s 4 year VA Merit award (see August 2024) finally (!) starts.
September 2025 – Hershey gives an invited talk at the CMTRF Global Research Convention.
April 2025 – Chanpreet’s first author paper is accepted. Congratulations Chanpreet!
January 2025 – Chanpreet’s AHA Predoctoral Fellowship is funded through 2026.
November 2024 – Dr. Langert gives a seminar in the Biomedical Engineering Department at UConn.
October 2024 – Presentations at the Society for Neuroscience meeting in Chicago. Dr. Langert and Dr. Sirianni chair a symposium, “Nanomedicine in the Central and Peripheral Nervous Systems.”
August 2024 – Notice of intent to fund Dr. Langert’s 4 year VA Merit award!
July 2024 – Lab receives funding from Loyola’s Cardiovascular Research Institute.
May 2024 – Stephanie graduates with her Master’s in Pharmacology! Her thesis is entitled, “Development of Targeted, Statin-Loaded Nanoparticle Delivery Systems.”
April 2024 – Dr. Langert gives a seminar in the Pharmacology Department at Virginia Commonwealth University.
March 2024 – Chanpreet, representing Loyola, wins first place in the graduate student oral symposium at the annual meeting of the Chicago Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience.
May 2023 – Carolyn graduates with her Master’s in Neuroscience! Her thesis is entitled, “Investigating the Anti-Inflammatory Mechanisms and Therapeutic Potential of Mevalonate Pathway Inhibitors for Peripheral Neuropathy.”
March 2023 – Hershey wins First Place at the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools Three Minute Thesis competition!
March 2023 – Dr. Langert gives a Neurosurgery Grand Rounds presentation at UMass Chan.
February 2023 – Impressive showing at Loyola’s Three Minute Thesis competition. Carolyn wins Third Place, and Hershey wins First Place and Audience Favorite awards!
May 2022 – Sean graduates with his M.S. in Pharmacology. Congratulations Sean!
January 2022 – Feipeng’s (second) first author paper is accepted by Scientific Reports!
December 2021 – Feipeng’s first author paper is accepted by Pharmaceutics. Congratulations Feipeng!
October 2021 – Investigator initiated grant from the Charcot Marie Tooth Research Foundation is funded!
March 2020 – Feipeng Yang, Ph.D., joins the Langert lab as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Welcome Feipeng!
